the moon rose and it laid bare all my thoughts,
both my hands, every step of all the best laid plans i’d made
i will make, again and again my decisions repeated and learned?
not a thing, not a lick or a simple reminder that i’d wanted her

now the swell, now the quiet,
the smooth yellow drawl of fireflies in flight
flash away, signaling willing announcing to lovers their names
is their joy reached by achieving or simply by filling the void
with their call, echoing echoing the forested halls?

for all of my questions and all my suggestions, i haven’t got a clue,
